"Vampires, werewolves and zombies, id making hollow because the angels are making their way to nudging on our shelves, and what I see, are here to stay."
In Heralds of Light, Victor Conde drags us into the eternal argument of any novel that boasts: good versus evil, light against darkness, love against hate, understanding to misunderstanding, angels vs. demons ... The Earth is doomed, once again, but had never run so much danger as now, as Lucifer and his people have risen against the sky, have clubbed their doors and it seems that even the host of the house is there to stop them. And is ... when God himself makes use of absolute free will and cruel, what to expect from him the rest of us?
Oblivious to this, the only ray of hope appears to be for humans is found on Earth in their last desperate mission. Sephora is an angel in charge of gathering the elect three young streams that contain within them the power to turn back to darkness and the demons back to hell from which they came. Tanya, a gifted Lolita; Erik, handsome and passionate, Mauro, a scene that has completely lost the will to live and can not overcome the pain of the world ... Three unknown forge an alliance and unite in order to save what's left of humanity.
Heralds of Light is the first part of the new trilogy of Victor Conde, Heralds. And it shows. What does this mean? Well, the book itself is fairly introductory, which is quite logical. The main function is to know the players and start to grow fond of them. Page after page, the author is letting loose brushstrokes of what is happening in the Great Plan of the Universe, while we are immersed fully in the microcosm of Tanya, Erik and Mauro. author's mastery of writing is appreciated. At no time is too long paragraphs, or parts of the book are tedious. The story suggests ways and you can glimpse an explosion of characters and content in the next book. However, I am sorry to say this, I've been syndrome "reading too many reviews" . I did something that a reader NEVER do: have a too high expectations and yes, although I liked the book, I expected something more. But you know what? This helps me to wait Heralds of Darkness more eagerly. I want to know more about Tanya and Mauro, a groovy new character perhaps Who Knows?
WORST: Erik. I do not know why but I've caught the kid mania.

- Is there no libraries in Heaven? Tanya asked getting off the bus. The stop was located on the outskirts of a small mountain village, looking not have changed the function or number of residents in more than a century.
"I'm afraid not. Knowledge is acquired otherwise.
"Oh," said the girl, with a hint that sounded like "they do not know if I'd go to Heaven when I die, after all" -. What the Hell? "There
other libraries there are many, but only have books of Dan Brown and Stephanie Meyer. Is Hell, after all.
